The Picture Gallery
In the ground floor showroom, a young man is trying to sell a large framed oil painting to an elderly gentleman with a bald head, accompanied by an elegant young lady in a yellow dress and matching hat. Upstairs, in his studio, an artist is painting Esmeralda, who is, of course, posing in the nude.
The Studio. Esmeralda has draped her clothes across the screen, and is reclining on a chaise longue. She was made for me by Diana Wieler, and is, I believe, her first piece in this scale. The artist's table holds his box of paints, a tub of brushes, and a rag.
Welcome to BEAUX CHAPEAUX,
with hats for sale on the ground floor, and gowns upstairs.

Below, a young lady is selecting her first evening dress, closely watched by her mother. The dressmaker has left her sewing machine, to try and help.
